Opening Times

There are many shops in Bansko selling a wide range of goods. Most shops are small and family run but still you should be able to find everything you need, including souvenirs, furniture, clothes, stationary, arts and crafts, wines and tobacco. Generally shops open at 9am and many of them stay open until 8pm during the season. Be aware that a lot of shops close for an unofficial siesta from 12 to 3pm. If you happen to be in town at this time, it’s the perfect excuse to stop at one of the many Mehanas for some good food and a drink or two.
  Cash machines

There are cash machines but they are well spread out and can be difficult to locate. There are a few off of Vaptsarov Square, one just outside the gondola station and one a little further up outside the Kempinski Hotel. You can use your UK cards in all cash machines in Bansko as long as you know your pin number. When you put your card into the machine you will be given a variety of language options. Once you have selected English, the rest of the procedure will be carried out in that language. Obviously you will be given your money in Levs according to the exchange rate set on that day. It is worth checking with your bank before travelling to see if they charge you a fee for using your card abroad.
